Success Stories

BRAYAN NGACHA

I joined Ajira in 2018 back then as it's was picking momentum at Egerton. This was when it was first introduced to the student community through a training that had been organized by Computer Science department. There were trainers that came from the ministry of ICT who opened my eyes to the online space. Since then my story has been different.

It was exciting to know that there is so much more that l would do with the Internet besides the usual simple things l always fancied then like going to Facebook to watch what people have posted and a bit of Google when given a class assignment. The trainers from Ajira team did it so well and mentored me into what l do today.  Thanks, Engineer Odossy, and Sir Emanuel.

Despite being a student from the faculty of Environment and Resource Development, it did not deter my hunger to venture into the Internet of Things (IoT) world. I grew exponentially with skills like social media management, data mining, web research, web designing, and google suite at my fingertips. Now am the director and founder of The Online Clinic (TOC) with over 500+ clients and more than 10 websites live. My parting shot is, do the things other are willing not to do and you'll get what they won't get

OWEN KIPROTICH

I became a member of ajira after l saw a poster online requesting student to register for an incoming online training. After l registered l was invited to a physical training that took place at one of the halls within campus. This was sometime back in 2019.
The training lasted five days and was very inspiring. I didn’t know there was so much out there in the online world. After the training I chose to venture into the transcription route and thus the mentorship phase began. I began my mentorship with the QA world. After several trials I was able to earn my first few dollars after just two weeks. The feeling my friends… The feeling of making some money after some hard work is not equitable to many things. The excitement and the desire to do more and see how much more l can make heightened my passion. To this day, l still work alongside my studies and have managed to improve very many aspects of my life now that the constant challenge of living expenses is behind me.

Joining Ajira club has helped me discover new online platforms such as Respondent as well as digital work. Online is a free world where creativity and hard work has a direct impact on how much money you make

BRYSON MISANGO

Hi guys!

My story is short, simple and fun filled. Then last bit of what l have just written has been made possible by the impact joining Ajira club has done to me. In a matter of 3 weeks after joining the club and getting trained, I got my first payment. For those of you that have heard about online work, you know how exciting it is to earn money you have worked for. The feeling is different from that of being given stipend by a parent.

I feel lucky to have been in the company of people who held my hand and walked with me to help me learn the ropes of what transcription is all about and how people make money. Nowadays, l am able to take care of my living expenses comfortably and even help some of my friends buy food as we continue with the comradeship life.

Its fun guys. Online work pays. Progressively, it lucratively pays if you are patient.

GOGI KIBERENGE

I learned about  online work while in my third year of study in 2016. Most of my circle of friends were already working online and there was a team that came around campus during that time with same information which helped kick start my interest. At first, I used to get work from friends who already had accounts. This took me approximately two weeks to earn out of it.

Progressively, I transitioned to working with direct clients as I used to deal with technical work a year down the line. I further diversified to include other non-technical work such as content writing.

After campus, l got a job but did not let go online work. I still earn and steadily so. Online work provides me additional income that allows me to do much more than l would have done from my formal employment income. I could say that online work has helped me diversify my sources of income at an early age of my life.

To someone venturing into online work, from my experience,  l would advice that you first do more research before deciding on what line of freelance work to venture into. Then find a mentor. Prioritize working under someone before transitioning to manage your accounts – You will learn a lot out of this

JOSEPH KIBUE

My journey into the world of online work began in 2019. I heard about online work through a friend but dint give it much attention. In April 2021, I joined the Ajira club where l learnt and got so much clarity about online work specifically data management, transcription, writing and translation and l was able to earn my first income in 3 weeks’ time after the training. I have been earning since then and subsequently learnt and signed upto to other income generating platforms.

Apart from earning, l have improved on business communications kills. Patience and persistence are the words l would tell beginners and those yet to venture into online work. The future works online. Don’t you forget that my friends. The earlier it sinks in your mind that even what you are currently studying is inseparable with the online world, the sooner you will give what l am say more attention.

I first heard about work in January 2017 after being introduced by a friend who had an online freelance account. I had no clue what it is all about but with his help, l got to understand the basics. After about a week, l had already earned my first payment. It felt nice.

Soon enough l began earning more and from the income, l managed to set a small scale farm at home. Thanks to online work. It is now thriving and my online work is thriving too. Online work has molded me into an open-minded, dedicated and time-conscious person because it forces me to perform unfamiliar tasks within a defined timeframe.

To a newbie, just be patient and aggressive because online work is challenging and requires adequate time and energy for one to realize success.

CHRISTINE PETER

I got to know about online work in 2018 in my third year of study. There was a training by the Ajira Digital Club that introduced me to online work at the time. However, I did not practice it at the time until l cleared campus. Around April 2020, l recalled about some skills l learnt about working online and decided to give it a shot.

It dint take much time before l got past the rough patch of not knowing what to do. Within the same month, l was able to begin making money. As l write this, my life is very different from what it was back then. I wish l had began earlier when l first heard of it. Anyway, its never too late.

In the short duration that l have been working and earning from my online work, l have learnt so much. I would hasten to say that online work provides one with numerous avenues of income generation. Personally, freelancing has offered me many opportunities through which I can make money in different disciplines. I’m now able to settle bills, and grow myself intellectually through online work.

To you who is still sitting on the fence, online work is work. It gives you so much flexibility and control of your personal growth and finances. Online work does not dictate one’s schedule, which generally enables you to choose what to work on, when and where. This is my best thing about working online. So, it’s never late to be the controller of your financial freedom.

NATASHA NADIDA

I got to know about online work through a training that was being conducted  at campus by AJIRA DIGITAL PROGRAM for free. I saw the training poster and I decided to register. Luckily, I got an opportunity to attend the physical training for five days, that was from 22ND March 2021 to 26TH March 2021.

It took me a week to earn my first income from online work. This is because I took four days to learn the few tricks on how to work proficiently online, and three days to work on certain tasks online.

I have learnt other incoming generating avenues that are still online. It is good and very encouraging to discover more and more income generating avenues online as it motivates one to work every day.

Online work has greatly impacted my life positively. It is a stable source of income just like any other physical job.  Am able to sustain myself and purchase the necessary supplies that are essential for every woman out there. The best part when it comes to online work, is the fact that everyday you are assured that you have a job, you don’t have to tarmac everyday to secure a job like physical jobs.

I would advice anyone who is yet to venture into online work to please start as soon as possible. Online work is not a scam and it rely does pay well. The more proficient you become at doing your online work, the better the pay, which also means, better jobs will come through your way. You do not have to have a white-collar job in order to earn a decent living. You can work online and eke a living successfully out of it.
